We use VolunteerMatch to keep track of our various opportunities. We need assistance with floor docents, general office work, exhibition maintenance, janitorial, painting, art and craft programs, using your truck to pick up the occasional large donation, Saturday and after school science programs, and anything else you can think of to help make this community asset shine!
We are working on getting a list (rss feed) of our volunteer opportunities right on this page – until then, you can visit our page at VolunteerMatch.org for all the details.
Volunteer Coordinator Needed ASAP
We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator. This important volunteer position necessitates a dedicated 5-10 hours a week managing our ever growing volunteer pool. Time frame is open, but we require a minimum time commitment through June.
Once a week you review upcoming needs and reach out to the volunteer pool to make sure the Museum has adequate volunteer coverage. Must have good attention to detail, good with spreadsheets, able to communication on the phone and over email.
MUST appreciate the role of a children’s museum in today’s society!
You can work at home but need to be able to meet with the director every other week on a Thursday or Friday for an hour meeting at the Museum. You must also commit to come to the Museum once a month for a volunteer meeting.
Our volunteers are vital to the success of the Utica Children’s Museum and you would be making a real difference in the lives of thousands of children and their families.
All volunteer applicants are subject to a background check as we are a children’s museum. Thank you for your understanding. Please contact Elizabeth Brando at 315-724-6129 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
